30 years in the making, California grown garlic takes center stage in a showdown between distinguished chefs from Northern California. The prize, a whole lot of bragging rights coupled with $5,000 and 1000 pounds of fresh garlic.
Can't wait to learn some new tricks and find out what you can do with a half-ton of garlic. This will be mine and my Mother in Law's first time there! The hubby has been way back when the first started. So i am looking forward to this so much Good food with some pretty great people !
Gilroy Garlic Festival organizers expect a huge turnout this weekend to celebrate the festival's 31st year and 2009 theme: "Ultimate Summer Food Fair."
Garlic, the star of the show, is provided by Bill Christopher (his father Don was one of the festival's co-founders) of Christopher's Ranch in Gilroy. Two tons of the aromatic bulb will be used in three days.
