My Version of a Steak & Eggs Sandwich

OK this is the first time i ever made poached eggs ! and i only had to throw one out (lol) as i was making the second one i told the hubby that if this one didn't come out i was going to make them fried !!! I hate not doing things right the first time ! So i gave it another try and it came out !! and yes i did YouTube Gordon Ramsey demo on how to make a poached egg and i am glad i did !!
And here is the steak sandwich i made to put the poached egg on !
It was a Flank steak (which i never use i always heard it was a tough meat but i always see Bobby Flay using flank so i though id try it and i used a great marinade for that made it really flavorful and tasty!

Margarita Flank Steak
1/4 cup of Tequila
1/4 cup of real orange juice
the juice of 2 lemons
and Salt & Pepper and marinate for 45 minutes!

On the sandwich lettuce, provolone cheese, steak, tomatoes,diced red onion, avocado's and topped with a poached egg!

Faux leather Jacket !

Was Shopping for School supplies on Sunday at Target a found this cute very inexpensive faux leather jacket for only $39.99 so i had to grab it !
And i stopped in Marshall's and picked up this gauze Leopard print scarf for $ 14.99 it was such a deal and of course i love Leopard so just a few more things to update my Fall wardrobe.

Grilled Fish with Lemon Basil Vinaigrette

Yesterday's Dinner ~ Grilled fish with a basil vinaigrette and Asian slaw with stir fired vegetable's

You can use this Basil Vinaigrette on any fish and it's so easy and tasty

2 Tb Olive Oil
3 Garlic cloves minced

3 Tb Fresh chopped Basil

2 whole juice of fresh lemons and the grated reins of of Lemon

and a dash of soy sauce

whisk together and sever over fish !

Lettuce Chicken Wraps~last nights dinner

My spin on P.F. Changes Lettuce Chicken wraps for dinner last night and it went with the hot weather we had going on here in sunny California (umm... 80 degrees at 9:30 last night) anywhoo i made this light and easy dinner with spicy sauce !

Just cut up chicken breast cooked over a medium heat until done seasoned with Salt& Pepper.

Diced up green onion

1 bag of bean sprouts

1 bag of shredded carrots

and green leafy lettuce for the wraps!

For the spicy sauce

No measuring needed !!
Just depends on how hot you want your sauce

So you will need

soy sauce

rice wine vinegar

Chinese hot mustard

minced garlic

and you must use Chili Garlic sauce with seeds in it !

Then just whisk it up in a bowl i added some of the diced green onions for texture!

Spoon over lettuce wraps and enjoy !!

This is Sugar Plum !! If have never been it is such a treat when my kids were little and in school me and my girlfriends would go for the day of shopping and fun and all go out to lunch after to compare all the fun stuff we bought for our house's. There is so much to look at so many crafts! I have been going for over 13 year or so and it is always a special treat to get you into the Holiday spirit you see i am that person that decorates for every holiday in almost every room my kids say i am obsessed with it (lol) but i know this is what i love to do it is such a tradition in my house! So yes i cant wait until Sugar Plum comes to town!!

New York City Food & Wine Festival 2009

New York City Food & Wine Festival is coming up and it's on the weekend i will be in Las Vegas ! (sad but not ) I will still be some where absolutely cool celebrating my 40Th Birthday bash!!but it wont be NYC !! Tasting all the good food and meeting all the Food Network Stars. It starts Thursday October 8Th Thur Sunday October 11Th with so much to do events planned all day everyday ! My favorite for Friday if i were going would be for $95.00 Chelsea Market after dark hosted by Guy Fieri & Sandra Lee aah such fun !!!
And for Saturday it would be for $ 200.00 Blue Moon Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray and a culinary demo with Martha Stewart!!
And Sunday there is so much going on here are just a few to mention interviews with Bobby Flay Culinary demos by the best of them Paula Deen, Sandra Lee, Rocco Disperito and many more. So next year i will be planning my trip to NYC for this Fabulous weekend. Just clink on title for link to NYC F&WF !!

Sun Tea ???

Sun Tea ? Yes that is the question ! Right now as i type i am drinking Sun Tea i gave up diet coke about a month ago just wasn't feeling it anymore and it had way to much sodium in it and a bunch of other crap that really wasn't doing anything for me ! So now i have been totally obsessed with sun tea i have always liked tea hot or cold but now i find myself drinking it all day and ordering it when ever i go out (LOL) But this morning i came across on the Internet a article warning about the bacteria growth in Sun Tea !! (eww) Oh no , not my sun tea :( . The centers for Disease Control states that brewing Sun Tea can mean growth Alcaligenes viscolactis a bacteria common in water. Sun-heated water won't get any hotter than 130 degrees Fahrenheit, which is not hot enough to kill off bacteria. If your sun tea gets thick/syrupy and you see ropey strands, that's bacteria. OK so now i will be brewing my tea over the stove or i will be buying instant !! Ugh who new??
